I had the great privilege of working alongside Daffyd at Battersea Unemployment Office from 1975 until around 1979. We had many adventures together outside of work and I stayed at his father’s flat in Clapham on a few occasion's after lengthy drinking sessions which lasted over the weekend. I lost touch with Daffyd after I left the office but have always wondered how his life progressed. I always thought he would do well…he was very bright, affable and great company. I see he married and had two children and I’m sure he was very happy. If anyone reading this would like to update me on how Daffyd got on after he left Battersea I’d be really interested to know. RIP Daffyd and belated best wishes to your family.

Shame to see your death at a comparably young age.

A colourful & charismatic character who I met through his equally determined & generous sister when working in London in the 1970's. Dafydd introduced me to the House of Lords (to drop off something important at a weekend) then due to various contacts had to drive people back to bunk beds in Whitehall offices when they were a bit the worse for wear, and had many other really astounding encounters when in Dafydd's company !! What a wonderful family. I spent hours with Dafydd & his father in their Clapham flat talking politics & interior decoration & the state of the world! I so admired Lord GR & had many wonderful enlightening conversations with them both - life changing in all honesty. I have only just discovered that both Ann & Dafydd have passed away, and although I have not been in contact for so many years, I am genuinely devastated to know that they have gone. I had the privilege of knowing the family & visiting them, thanks to Dafydd, at their beautiful home in Wales, and I have such fond memories of generosity, challenging and wide-ranging conversations/arguments and much laughter. My condolences & huge respect to surviving family - they will not know me, but I hope they continue the hope & unwavering spirit of the people I knew & loved .
