He taught me so much about literature and life when I was a teaching assistant at Bishop Gore during the coal strike. I'll never forget him.

Mr Ganz taught me English at Bishop Gore from 1966 to 1969.I recall him now dictating his lecture on Paradise Lost while strolling around the classroom in a flapping black gown. He was famous for throwing your essay book back at you across the room and putting the names of naughty boys in his ' scamp album'. Yes, a real eccentric at a largely conventional school.

Robin was a friend of my family and I knew him for almost 60 years. Although I moved to America, seeing Robin was always a highlight of any visit to Swansea. We had many fascinating and stimulating conversations. I will miss his intellect and wit. I extend my sympathy and condolences to Judy and the family.
