Today we say our goodbyes to this gentle soul!
Peter I have known you right from being a little baby in arms. You have known my mum the same.
I have so many fond memories of you, something that I will cherish for eternity.
You weren’t just our neighbour, you were like family you would take care of us and we would take care of you and very much so over the past few years.
You were so caring, I remember you looking after your mum, Alice she to was a beautiful lady.
You helped me through so much, as a child you were always about, you were there to take photos of my mum and dads wedding and also capture memories before this of me growing up. I remember being sat with you whilst you helped me do my first CV, you drove me to the hospital on several occasions when I was having both my children. You always had time to stand in the garden to have a chat whilst you were doing your gardening, and always asked after each of us. In the last few years we were there to help you more and more and I hope we did you well.
Little did I know the morning of the day you sadly passed away would be the last time I would see you, I sat with you and we talked a little while, I tried to help you sort your car and get it working. You kept telling me to go to bed after my night shift but helping you was more important, strange really as I shouldn’t have been there everything was supposed to be sorted the night before.
I could go on and on Peter but it’s time to let you rest, Thank you for being the person you were and thank you for giving us so many happy memories as your friend and neighbour, we hope to do you proud and celebrate the best we can.
Rest in Peace, you will never be forgotten, until we meet again, safe journey 💔🌹⭐️
All our love Ashleigh and Sue

Just to add that we have managed to organise a wake to celebrate Peter's life. It will be at Saltburn Cricket Club at 4.00pm on Wednesday 2nd June. It would be great if Peter's extended family, friends and neighbours could join us

This is a message that may interest music fans like Peter. I am his nephew Chris and as well as working on Peter's funeral with my brother Mike, I have compiled a long playlist on spotify which profiles all the tunes he used to listen to - some of the shows he went to, to show his love of life, culture and music. You can listen to it here:
