Selma Sara Mary HawthorneDIXSelma passed away peacefully on the 24th of August 2025 aged 97 years. Beloved wife to the late Johnny & daughter of the late Treasure (Dixie). Selma will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A small funeral was held on 17th September but all friends are welcome to join us for the scattering of her ashes at St. Andrew's Chapel & Cemetery, Great North Road, NE2 3BU on Friday 26th September at 1pm.

Very fond memories of being taught elocution lessons by this lovely lady, l remember having the lessons in a big house, in the posh part of Newcastle, stood me in good stead when l moved down south, sad to hear of her passing a truly lovely lady, very patient!.

Selma was a good friend of my sisters Sheila and Margaret nee Mahony, for many years,sadly Sheila died January of this year and Margaret is not well at all Hillcrest Care Home in Alnwick.
I'm the younger sister Kathleen but knew Selma well
