ElizabethCOSGROVE(Née Byrne) (Formerly Smyth ) Devoted Wife, loving Mother, Nan, Great-Nan and True Liverpudlian. Passed away peacefully on 22nd June 2025 at the age of 87. Devoted wife of Harry Cosgrove and beloved Mother of Roy (+), Paul, Desmond, Gillian, Dylan and Philip. With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to a woman who embodied love, warmth and kindness in everything she did. Affectionately known as Betty, she was the heart of our family. A funeral service will be held at Greenacres, Rainford Park, St Helens, WA11 7HX on Friday 18th July at 3:45pm. All who knew her are welcome to attend to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The British Heart Foundation. Forever in our hearts.

In memory of my loving wife Betty,

Recalling all the wonderful places and things we done together, you will be forever in my heart. Rest in peace. Goodnight, God Bless. It's not goodbye, it's Au Revoir until we meet again.

Broken hearted husband, Harry.

If flowers grow in Heaven On land that's wild and free Lord, place some in my mother's arms Please tell her that I love her And miss her everyday And tell her there's still so much That I would like to say Remembering her is easy She's in everything I do I miss her so much everyday But I know she's safe with you If tears could build a stairway Made from all the pain I'd walk right up to heaven and bring her back again Lord, please take care of her And I hope that she will see That she was such a special person And a special mum to me

Sending you lots of love, love always Phil, Dan, Josh and Louis xxx

Deepest sympathy to Harry and all Betty's loving family. Betty I miss the wonderful laughter we shared working together in Sayers coffee house. We had some great times we were a great team and shared the same sense of humour. I could not have wished for a better friend and colleague we laughed together and cried together you were a lovely caring person Betty and I am proud to have called you a friend. Rest in perfect peace
Betty.

Our nan,

Our nan was a beautiful, kind and generous woman.
She was an inspiration to us all.

No one loved her family more than she did. She was proud of us all and would shower us with love at every turn.

She was one a million. She was the reason this saying was invented. She was always there for us and she would give us anything and everything we needed or asked for.

She would not hesitate to be there for us and council us with her wisdom.

She wanted the best for every single one of us and she would always proudly tell stories of everyone in the family. She would do anything and everything for her family. It is our duty now to serve her memory and pass this love on to everyone we know & meet

She would always offer a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on and she would always see the best in everyone, even when we ourselves could not.

Words can not express what she meant to us - no words can ever come close.
She brought a smile to the faces of everyone who ever met her. She always saw the best in everyone and would always treat them with love and respect.

Everyone has a story of how they were treated with kindness, warmth and love by her.

She was a special and magical person.

We will never see her like again but she will always live on in our hearts and memories.

Generations of our family will know of her warmth and love. She will be an example to this family for eternity.

If we can even replicate 1% of her love and attitude, we will be truly blessed people.

Always in our hearts. She will never be forgotten.

We will always be grateful for having her in our lives and for making this world a better place
