JamesCONNOLLYOf Accrington, formerly of Rossendale, died in The Hollies Nursing Home, Clayton-le-Moors on Friday, September 23, aged 86. Born in Stacksteads he had lived in the Rossendale area most of his life, and had lived in Accrington for the past 30 years. He owned his own painting business, James Connolly (Painting) and worked with his brothers at Connolly Brothers Ltd. He was a very popular person who sang at many venues throughout the local area and had also performed at the London Palladium with his brother Desmond. He leaves wife Sandra, children James, Teresa, Shaun, Aiden, Jane, Geraldine, Faye, Daniel and Lauren, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister Kathleen, brothers Desmond and Brendan, nephews, nieces and many friends. A Requiem Mass will be held at St James The Less RC, Rawtenstall on Monday, October 10 at 11am followed by interment in Bacup Cemetery at 12.30pm conducted by Father S Stamp.
