GeraldCLARKEMr Gerald Clarke, of Fernville Terrace, Stacksteads, died on Saturday, July 17, aged 72. Gerald was a boiler man, who retired from J J Ormerods, was a Fire Pro Officer on boats. When he was younger, he lived in Norway and worked in London and Bradford; he was well travelled. He loved holidays and cruises, and was a crown green bowler, playing for Rose N Bowl, as well as running marathons, and playing pool for Royal Oak. He liked going to the pub, jigsaws, reading, and loved his shed and doing work on the garden. Gerald was very good at making things with wood, and when younger was a good footballer. He leaves partner of 18 years, Marilyn, two grandchildren Sophie, 19, and Chloe, 17, stepson Paul, stepdaughter Fiona, stepson-in-law Ste, eight sisters, and five brothers. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 2, at 10.30am at the Chapel of Rest, then 11.30am at Burnley Crematorium, officiated by Kathy Unsworth, followed by 12.30pm at Rose N Bowl, and everyone is welcome.
