Michael Hilton, aged 59, passed away peacefully at Springhill Hospice, Rochdale, on Wednesday 12th November 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Dearly loved partner to Gill. Devoted Dad to Claire, Francesca, and Alyssa. Stepdad to Christopher and Sarah.
Adored son of Barbara and the late Ralph. Treasured twin brother to Andrew, and much-loved sibling to Beverley, John, Stephen, and Catherine.
A cherished Grandad, Uncle, Great Uncle, Nephew, Cousin & Brother-in-Law. A highly respected friend and work colleague within the local building, plumbing and electrical community, especially to the late Andy Holmes, Gaz, Rick, and Sean.
Born at Birch Hill Hospital, Michael was raised in Newhey, then lived with his family in Dobcross, until finally spending his last three years living in Milnrow with partner and stepdaughter Gill & Sarah. He attended Newhey County Primary School and Roch Valley High School, Milnrow.
After working in various local roles in Rochdale and Newhey, Michael worked alongside his late father, Ralph, in Littleborough as a shot blaster, before retraining as a plumber and heating engineer. I've known Michael and his family for over 50 years. Andrew and Michael were always up to something usually ending with a funny Sarcastic comment.
I was fortunate that I had the time to go and visit Michael after he'd been diagnosed with this most horrible illness. I can say I got more pleasure he'd tell me all about what had gone on in Milnrow and Newhey for the last 40 years and have me in tears of laughter and never once did he complain or moan.
The song My Way by Frank Sinatra was written for Michael
I was there the night before he passed away and still he was talking and laughing.
I have never met a Braver or more dignified person
It's been a pleasure Champ
