Michael LesterBARRETTIt is with the deepest sadness that we announce that Michael passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 31st August 2025, just as he wished, surrounded by his family.

Much-loved husband of Julie, a proud and amazing dad to Lorraine, Mark, David and Helen, cherished father-in-law, and a devoted, doting grandad and great-grandad. A dear brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Affectionately known as Mike, Mickey B or Mick, he will be remembered as an incredible father, the world's best grandad, and a truly devoted family man - generous to a fault, whose laughter and kindness filled every day.
He will be missed by all who knew him.

The family have no words to fully express their gratitude to the Panacea Cleethorpes and Haven Teams, whose compassion, dedication, and love gave Michael dignity, comfort, and peace, and surrounded us all with strength and kindness through his final days. Their outstanding care, both to Michael and to his family, will remain with us always and will never be forgotten.

A service to celebrate Michael's life will be held at Grimsby Crematorium on Monday 22nd September at 10.30am. Please feel welcome to come as you are, in whatever attire you feel most comfortable.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of floral tributes made to 'Care Plus Group Charitable Trust' will be gratefully received at Mashfords Funeral Service, Norfolk Lane, Cleethorpes, DN35 8BB. Donations may also be made online via the family's GoFundMe page www.gofundme.com/f/michael-lester-barrett
