Danny Buckley RIP            28/05/1942 – 19/06/2025

I could not let this day pass by without reflecting on the very sad news of the passing of my friend and our colleague, Danny Buckley.

Whatever I have written here does not go anywhere near doing Danny justice as to what a truly remarkable man he was. I would have to write a book with contributions from his friends and colleagues across the globe to do him justice….. it would be a best seller. I can say this with 100% confidence ‘whoever had the pleasure of meeting Danny would remember him for the rest of their lives’.

Danny had time and the ability to communicate with all persons, at all levels, from all backgrounds, from all religions, with all political persuasions… an ability and skill that is very rarely found in people in this modern age.

Danny had time for everyone. An intelligent man with a love for books, particularly history. He had an unmatched energy and commitment in delivering engineering solutions.

Danny was one of the original founders of ‘Simulaton’ a company that started from humble beginnings at Rosehill business centre in Derby and has moved successfully forward over the past 25 years in delivering fire and rescue training simulators to fire and emergency services around the world. In the modern world news travels fast and I know that there are people all over the world who will be reflecting (and probably smiling) as they think of times they had in his company.

I first met Danny in 1989 and have worked with him since 1991 (33 years) up to December of last year. I and many others will joyously be recounting numerous memories, situations and events that have occurred over this period and for many years prior.

Danny – a truly wonderful and remarkable man who had all the time in the world for everyone he ever met.

I am blessed to have known you. Rest in peace my friend
Steve Fahey
